Marquise Henry on Force Trucks

From an amazing bonus part in the award winning Alien Workshop video, to joining the DC AM Team, and now Justin Williams and Greg Carroll, the owners of Force Trucks, are proud to announce that Marquise Henry is the newest addition to the Force Trucks Team. Recently Marquise came through SF with the DC AM Team, so we took the chance to meet up with him to give out some free product to some kids and have our intern interview him.

Ben: Congratulations on getting on DC’s AM team and Force Trucks. How did your riding for Force Trucks and DC come about?

Marquise: Thanks! I have known Justin Williams for a long time. He use to flow me ventures awhile back when he use to worked for them. He started Force and asked me if I was down to ride for them and I was like hell yeah! I got hooked up with DC because of my good friend Mike Kretovics went on a trip to Chicago, and he met my big homie Josh Kalis and showed him some footage of mine. After that Kalis gave me a call and asked me was I down to ride for DC. Once again I was like “hell yeah!”

B: I was looking at your rider profile on the DC site and I noticed that every picture of you was switch and then in your Mind Field Bonus part more than half the tricks were switch. What made you start skating switch so much?

M: All of my homies that I grew up skating with were skating regular and switch and I wanted to learn both so i started skating switch all the time and it just worked out.

B: Speaking of your Mind Field bonus part, how is it being a part of a team that is doing so well lately; taking home best part, best video, best street skater, and best team at the Transworld Awards.

M: Man! I am so hyped and it feels great to be apart of the Alien Workshop crew. A company that’s been around forever and is well respected.

B: A lot of internet commenters thought your music for your AWS part was a great choice. So how did you choose Apollo Heights’ “Everlasting Gobstopper” for your song?

M: Haha thanks! But I didn’t choose it. I can’t take the credit, Greg Hunt chose the song and it went very well with my part. Thanks Greg!

B: So since this is your welcome interview to Force Trucks, what was your first ledge trick that you learned?

Haha.I would half to say a 50-50.

B: What made you want to ride for our team? Did it have anything to do with the other Long Beach skaters on the team, like Darrell Stanton and Ricky Webb, do you skate with them when you’re at your hometown?

M: Because Justin (Force Trucks Team Manager) is my boy. And i liked how the trucks looked and skated. I don’t know Darrell but Ricky is the homie we skated together a few times.

B: Since we’re talking about friends, have you and Matt Miller always skate together or did that just start with DC?

M: Me and Matt started hanging out last year at Damn AM Minneapolis we were both flow for DC and we started skating together and from there we became homies.

B: The other day I saw a clip of you skating Rob Dyrdek’s Fantasy Factory, how was that?

M: Skating the Fantasy Factory was tight! It is definitely a cool place to skate.

B: Do you have any projects coming up that you’re working on right now, any parts or videos?

M: I have been just filming for the DC AM VIDEO. Everything is looking good.

B: So which one of our trucks are you riding now? And do you have any tricks, such as methods of tightening etc, that you always do to your trucks to get them broken in and ready to ride?

M: I am riding the 8inch lows. I don’t have any tricks or methods of tightening my trucks. I just put bones bushings in them and call it a day.

B: Any last words or anything that we didn’t cover that you’d like to talk about?

M: O yeah! Look out for my boy Matt in the ZooYork Video.
